At the start of the new millennium, Amnesty International wanted to bring the scourge of torture to the attention of the world.
In Canada, longtime radio pals Mike Tennant, Mike Occomore, Larry MacInnis and Terry O'Reilly formed The Pro Bono Group and pitched in to help.
Since the success of that first campaign 25 years ago, we have donated our writing, directing and production skills — and called upon the generosity of our many contacts in Canada and abroad — to help those who need help the most.
Currently, The Pro Bono Group has radio PSAs airing for The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, Feed Ontario, and hundreds of food banks in towns and cities across Canada.

Tracey Hoyt has been an actor and improviser in theatre, film, TV and audio since the late ’80’s. After her performance training at the Banff Centre, The Second City and York University, she started her voice career by doing live phoned-in character work for CIUT radio and radio dramas on CBC Radio. Her animation career began when she landed recurring roles on English dubs of Japanese anime projects like Sailor Moon, Keroppi and Friends and Knights of the Zodiac. Tracey later originated characters on Delilah and Julius, The Care Bears Big Wish Movie and The Cat in The Hat Knows A Lot About That!
Tracey has voiced hundreds of radio and TV commercials. She has narrated numerous audiobooks including The Moment by Andrea Constand and No Good Asking by Fran Kimmel.
On camera, Tracey’s work on The Tournament (CBC TV) and Decoys (CBC GEM) has earned her three Canadian Screen Award nominations. On stage, she appeared in the earliest versions of The Drowsy Chaperone and produced three versions of her fully improvised solo shows Face Value: East (Crows Theatre) Face
Value: West (SummerWorks) and Soul Prints (Convergence Theatre).
Tracey taught Improv extensively at The Second City Training Centre and Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto. Under Terry O’Reilly’s mentorship, she created and ran the commercial voiceover training program Pirate Voice at Pirate Toronto. She now does it through her own company Tracey Hoyt Coaching & Direction.
An emerging playwright, Tracey is currently working on her comic play Hart’s Crossing General Store, supported by an Ontario Arts Council Recommender Grant (Port Stanley Festival Theatre.)
